DVD6C has terminated DVD6C License Agreements with Licensees CIS and Kent World

August 1, 2005 --- The DVD6C Licensing Group (DVD6C) consisting of nine leading developers of DVD technology and formats—Hitachi, Ltd., IBM Corporation, Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd., Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, Sanyo Corporation, Sharp Corporation, Toshiba Corporation, Victor Company of Japan, Ltd. (JVC) and Warner Home Video Inc. —today announced that it has terminated the DVD6C Patent License Agreements with two companies effective as of July 27, 2005.

The two companies, CIS Technology Inc. and Kent World Co., Ltd., failed to fulfill their material obligations of royalty reporting and/or royalty payment under the DVD6C Patent Licensing Agreement.

It is therefore cautioned that the sale, offering for sale, use, importation or other disposal of DVD products of these two companies may constitute infringement of patent rights in countries where essential patents of DVD6C members have been issued or registered.
