
SUB-PICTURE DATA BY A RUN-LENGTH COMPRESSION RULE
Sub-picture data recorded on a disc is compressed by a run-length method, which is different from main-picture data compressed by a MPEG method.
- Compression rules of main-picture data and subpicture data are different.
- Run-length compression for sub-picture data is suited for processing character information like superimposed captions.
